COVID-19 Testing

Similar COVID-19 testing that was done in Enterprise in April will be available daily in Montgomery and Adamsville.

In a press release on Thursday, April 16, Alabama Gov. Kay Ivey announced that the state would be launching new COVID-19 drive-thru testing sites in Adamsville and Montgomery supported by Walmart and Quest Diagnostics.

These testing sites will be available for anyone exhibiting symptoms, as well as all healthcare workers and first responders.

“I greatly appreciate the efforts by Walmart and Quest Diagnostics to provide additional testing locations that are secure and easily accessible,” Ivey said. “All over the country, states are struggling to acquire enough testing kits and personal protection equipment. These new sites will allow folks to receive testing without leaving the car, thereby keeping them from potentially infecting others.”

The testing sites will be drive-thru, observed self-collection sites in Walmart parking lots in Adamsville and Montgomery. Quest Diagnostics’ online portal MyQuest will screen and schedule individuals who meet the CDC eligibility for testing and those individuals will receive appointments for testing. Appointment confirmation will be required to have on hand upon arrival at a testing site.

“Walmart is part of the community and we are proud to help support the expansion of COVID-19 testing in Alabama during this unprecedented time,” Walmart Public Affairs Director for Alabama Glen Wilkens said. “We are grateful to our associates who keep our stores running, our pharmacists who support these testing sites and to Quest and local officials as we work together to open the sites and help our community.”

The drive-thru testing will be open daily from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m., weather permitting. To qualify for testing schedule an appointment at www.MyQuestCOVIDTest.com. For more information on testing and testing sites, visit, https://governor.alabama.gov/assets/2020/04/Community-Letter_General.docx.
