A squall line is being monitored that will pass through the local area late Sunday night and early Monday morning. There may be scattered strong to severe storms throughout the afternoon and evening across Southeast Alabama and Southwest Georgia. These will all be prior to the arrival of the main line of storms in the early morning hours.
Coffee and Dale County are in the moderate risk for severe weather which includes severe storms. The main hazards are damaging winds, one inch hail and possible tornadoes. Wind gusts will be 25-30 mph prior to arrival of the squall line with sustained winds of 15 mph. This main squall line of damaging storms is expected to arrive between 1 and 5 a.m. Monday.
The potential for rain is up to 3” with locally higher amounts. Flooding is not expected.
