The State of Alabama has launched a website seeking medically trained personnel volunteers to help during the COVID-19 crisis.
Coffee County EMA recently announced that he had launched a website for it’s newly formed group called the Coffee County Medical Corps to sign up medically trained personnel to volunteer, but after the state launched the Alabama Governor’s Office of Volunteer Services the county is asking volunteers to sign up with the state organization instead.
“In order to consolidate our efforts and ensure a one stop place for those wishing to volunteer we will now be directing all medically trained personnel who wish to volunteer to the Alabama Governor’s Office of Volunteer Services website,” Coffee County EMA Director James Brown said. “We thank all our local volunteers; those who are making masks, those who are delivering food, those who have stepped up to say ‘I’m here to help,’ those who have kneeled down and prayed.
“We are proud of the citizens of Coffee County for your spirit of self-sacrifice and your willingness to help others. We are truly stronger together.”
Those that wish to sign up can do so at, www.servealabama.gov/alabamareadyop.
