Robert La Branche, executive director of the Alabama Military Stability Foundation, will be the guest speaker at the Tuesday, Oct. 13 meeting of the Enterprise Rotary Club. La Branche serves as an aerospace and defense consultant and works with the Strategic Communications team of the Space Launch System Program Office at NASA’s Marshall Spaceflight Center in Huntsville. On Oct. 15, at Hammond-Sconiers Funeral Home in Enterprise at 5 p.m. there will be a report of the NAACP Coffee County Branch #5017 Nominating Committee, receipt of Nominations by Petition, and election of the Election Supervisory Committee. All members whose memberships are current as of April 1 of the election year may be nominated for office or as an at-large member of the Executive Committee. In order to sign a nominating petition, or be elected to the Election Supervisory Committee, a member must be current as of 30 days prior to the October meeting.

The Coffee County Education Retirees Association will meet Tuesday, Oct. 20 at Po Folks in Enterprise. Free flu shots and wellness screenings will be available beginning at 10:30 a.m. Please be sure to bring your insurance card. AERA Executive Director Jill Jackson will be present to greet the members. Stacy Wilson, guest speaker, will present a short program on “Retirees Maintaining Mental Stability.” As usual, a meal will be offered for those wishing to eat. There will be social distancing, wearing of masks, and following CDC guidelines. At this time you will be able to pay your dues and collect your free AEA face masks if you have not done so. The Republican Women of Coffee County will meet Wednesday, Oct. 21, at 11 a.m., at the Enterprise Country Club. The guest speaker will be KCarl Smith who will be speaking on the countermeasure to BLM’s anarchy and anti-liberty agenda. Smthh is a member of the Trump Presidential Campaign Coalition Advisory Board and is the author of the best-selling book “Frederick Douglass Republicans.” Social time begins at 11 a.m. with an optional $12 buffet served by club employees beginning at 11:30 a.m. The program begins at approximately noon. Social distancing will be observed and per Governor Ivey’s directive, masks should be worn except while eating. Everyone is invited, but reservations are required.
