Daleville DPS recovers stolen items

The stolen items recovered by the Daleville Department of Public Safety.

“I am very proud of our officers,” said Daleville Department of Public Safety Chief Alan Medley. “We have one job, keeping our community safe.”

That “one job” was exemplified this weekend as Medley, DPS Sgt. Allen Hendrickson and DPS Investigator Noah Suiter worked with the Houston County Sheriff’s Office to recover and return stolen equipment to a Daleville resident.

Outdoor equipment was reported stolen from a residence on Elizabeth Lane in Daleville, Medley said. Information obtained by DPS investigators “resulted in the swift recovery” of the equipment Oct. 4.

“During the course of this investigation it was discovered that the items were located in Houston County,” Medley said. “Information was given that the items were going to be moved and our officers had to act swiftly.

“We would like to thank the Houston County Sheriff's Office for their tremendous assistance throughout this investigation,” Medley said, adding special thanks to Hendrickson who was on leave at the time but returned to work to join the investigation.

“The items were recovered and returned to a grateful owner,” Medley said. “This case is still under investigation.

“We are committed to providing the highest level of professionalism and service to our citizens,” he said. “Every day our officers patrol our city's streets, protecting families and business, preventing crime and responding to emergency calls of service. We work hard every day to make Daleville a safer place to live, work and play.”
