Registration for kindergarten for Enterprise City Schools will be held on Tuesday, March 17, from 8:30 a.m.-2 p.m. at the Enterprise Early Education Center.

To be eligible to enroll in public school kindergarten for the 2020-2021 school year, a child must be five years old on or before Sept. 1.

Parents may also register a student during the kindergarten transition meeting for parents to be held at the Enterprise Early Education Center on Tuesday, March 17, at 11:30 a.m. and again at 6 p.m. After March 17, kindergarteners can register from 8:30 a.m. - 2 p.m. Tuesday – Thursday in the office at the Enterprise Early Education Center.

Children who enroll in the Enterprise City Schools for the first time at the first grade level for the 2020-2021 year must be six years of age on or before Sept. 1.

In view of changes in the law it is important for parents to note that a student who attends a public, private or church kindergarten during the 2020-2021 school year and is not five years of age by Sept. 1, 2020 will not be eligible for first grade in the school year 2020-2021.

In addition to meeting age requirements, the parents of entering kindergartners and first graders are asked to present the following items at the time of registration:

• Birth certificate

• Social Security Card

• Alabama Immunization Certificate

• Two proofs of residency, for example, lease agreement or mortgage papers, voter registration card, driver’s license, tag receipt, property tax statement or current utility bill.

If your child does not have an immunization certificate, the Coffee County Health Department will be administering pre-school vaccinations.

To schedule an appointment for the vaccination, please call 347-9574, ext. 221, or the operator. Parents may opt to contact their local physician regarding the vaccinations.

Disclosure of Social Security card numbers is voluntary only. Social Security card numbers are used by the district for the limited purpose of properly identifying students for record-keeping and transcripts and are kept confidential. The lack of or refusal to provide a SSN will have no impact on the district’s enrollment decision. Students who enroll without a SSN will be assigned an alternate identification number.
