Graduation ceremonies for the Class of 2021 at Enterprise High School were held for the second consecutive year in a morning ceremony on Thursday, May 27 at 9 a.m. Last year’s class began the first of four ceremonies with 125 graduates during each block at the same time due to COVID-19 restrictions.

This year’s class of 462 graduates celebrated on the newly-renovated Wildcat Stadium turf and was led by valedictorian Jaeeun Ha and salutatorian Grace Olivia Heim.

Ha, who is Korean, moved to Enterprise in 2018 from China when her dad was assigned here to a branch of the company in which he worked. She had been studying English from a young age but it was not her primary language.

When she began school at EHS, she was a sophomore with little English fluency and intimidated by the “hundreds of Americans surrounding me; that’s you guys.”

In her message to her fellow graduates, she asked them to recall their first day of school, how tiny they felt, their first outfit, their hairstyle, and to look at themselves now, how far they’ve all come.

“Today we’re marking the finale of a milestone, the end of an era. But most importantly, we’re celebrating the opening of a new chapter. Today after four years of blood, sweat and tears, we’re graduating,” Ha said. Ha will be attending Duke University in the fall majoring in engineering.

The top 10 graduates in the class are Cadis Matthew Ammons, Alaura Maye de Hoyos, Sophie Julia Maria Hop, Brian Lewis Johnson, Ethan Jacob Kimball, Emily Katherine Little, Rachel Judy McCarty, Ronak Rajeshkumar Patel, Jacob Brent Snider and Madilyn Michelle Webb. They are also considered Summa Cum Laude graduates.
