Five finalists in the Coffee County Board of Education's superintendent search, including three from the Coffee County School System and one from the Enterprise City School System, were named during the board's special-called meeting on Friday, May 4.
The finalists are Kelly Cobb, Vohn Enloe, Kevin Killingsworth, Randy Thomley and David West.
Cobb received her associate's degrees in arts and science from Enterprise State Junior College. She received her bachelor of science in education and her master of science in education degrees from Troy University.
She also received her master's of educational leadership and her education specialist degrees from Auburn University Montgomery.
Since 2015, Cobb has served as the Coffee County School System's federal programs coordinator, curriculum coordinator, accountability coordinator and Pre-K coordinator.
She has previously served as the New Brockton Elementary School principal, leading students in Pre-K through sixth grades, and the assistant principal at Zion Chapel School, providing leadership to students in kindergarten through 12th grades.
Cobb has also served as a reading coach to students in grades kindergarten through sixth at Zion Chapel School and Kinston School. She has served as a first-grade teacher at Zion Chapel School.
Through the Alabama Reading Academy, Cobb has served as a kindergarten teacher at Pinedale Elementary School and first-grade teacher at Fain Elementary School in Dothan.
Enloe received his bachelor of science in biology degree from Freed Hardeman University in Henderson, Tenn. He also attended the University of Mississippi, Troy State University and Auburn University Montgomery.
He received his teacher certification in biology, chemistry and science and his master's in secondary administration from Harding University in Searcy, Ark.
Enloe also received education specialist in instructional leadership degree from Auburn University as well as his doctorate in administration of elementary and secondary education.
Since 2016, Enloe has served as the principal of Zion Chapel School. He has previously served as the assistant principal at Headland High School.
He has taught biology, marine science and physical science classes online through ACCESS Distance Learning, and he has served as a physical science teacher at Dauphin Junior High School.
Enloe has also served as a teacher at Goshen High School, where he taught anatomy and physiology, physics, environmental science, applied biochemistry and other eighth- and ninth-grade classes.
Enloe has also served as a coach at DJHS, Enterprise High School and GHS. Killingsworth received his bachelor of science in physical education and his master of science in physical education from Troy State University. He received his master's administrative supervisor certificate from Alabama State University.
Since 2016, Killingsworth has served as the special programs coordinator for the Coffee County School System.
He has previously served as principal of Zion Chapel School and New Brockton High School. He served as the assistant principal of Zion Chapel School.
He has served as an assistant principal, safety director, athletic director, physical education teacher, offensive coordinator and strength coach with Elba City Schools.
He has also served as a physical education teacher, head football coach and athletic director at Enterprise Junior High School and physical education teacher and head football coach at Dauphin Junior High School.
Thomley attended George Wallace Junior College in Selma and received his bachelor of science and master of arts in teaching, focusing on K-12 education, physical education, social studies and administration, from Livingston University in Livingston.
He also received his education specialist degree in educational leadership from the University of North Alabama Florence.
Since 2005, Thomley has served as the assistant superintendent of Winfield City Schools.
He has previously served as principal, assistant principal, teacher and coach at Fayette Middle School.
He has also served as a teacher and coach at Grove Hill Academy and Sweet Water High School.
West received his bachelor of science in elementary education and his master of science in elementary education from Troy University. He also received the endorsement in educational administration and leadership certificate and his education specialist in educational administration and leadership degree from Troy University
He is expected to receive his doctorate of education in educational leadership from Liberty University in 2018.
Since 2014, West has served as principal of Coppinville Junior High School. He has previously served as principal for South Dale Middle School and assistant principal at Lisenby Elementary School.
He has served as assistant principal at Brantley High School and an educational consultant for Epic Educational Group in Dothan. He has also served as a fourth- and fifth-grade teacher at Grandview Elementary School.
