At the May 5 Coffee County Board of Education meeting, the board approved the bid for 12 new classroom additions at New Brockton Elementary School.
Beasley Construction was awarded the low bid of $3.01 million after unanimous approval to construct the 12 new classrooms at NBES.
The board also approved a request to employ summer workers if state restrictions allow.
The board also approved a new policy on supervision of low risk juvenile sex offenders for the 2020-2021 school year, as required by law.
The board also approved several personnel actions at the meeting:

Sheldyn Stephens, elementary teacher at New Brockton Elementary;
Morgan Norsworthy, special education teacher at New Brockton Elementary;
Hope Bowers, counselor at New Brockton Elementary;
Jared Robison, assistant principal at New Brockton Elementary;
Marlee Boswell, teacher at New Brockton High;
Tyler Logan, band director at Zion Chapel School;
Kathern Devine, lunchroom manager at Kinston School;
Ashley Norris, lunchroom worker at Kinston School;
Rebecca Green, secretary and bookkeeper at New Brockton Elementary;
Jason Sims, school bus mechanic for Coffee County Schools; and,
Resignations:
Kendra Thomas, secretary and bookkeeper at New Brockton Elementary.
