According to a news release from the Enterprise Police Department, a traffic accident on June 8 involving a Hartford ambulance is being investigated.
EPD responded to a traffic accident at 11:37 a.m. at the intersection of Geneva Highway and Boll Weevil Circle, in front of the Good-To-Go, involving an SUV and a Hartford ambulance.
The traffic accident was a broadside collision causing the ambulance to roll over on its side, according to the release.
The ambulance was staffed by a driver and a paramedic, who were transporting a patient that was receiving emergency CPR en-route to the hospital at the time of the accident.
The patient was pronounced deceased at the scene, while the ambulance driver and paramedic were transported to the hospital with minor injuries. The driver of the SUV was treated and released at the scene, while the SUV’s passenger was also transported to the hospital for treatment.
The identity of the deceased has not been released and the cause of the accident is currently under investigation by the EPD Traffic Homicide Unit. No further information is available at this time.
