According to Coffee County EMA, Coffee County now has 135 confirmed cases of COVID-19 as of May 4 but more than half of those patients have recovered and are no longer on quarantine.
Those 134 confirmed cases come from 922 total tests conducted thus far in Coffee County. Medical Center Enterprise has tested 136 patients with 14 confirmed cases and two pending tests. Coffee County still has no confirmed deaths due to COVID-19.
Of those 135 cases, 67 are still actively in quarantine, while 68 have recovered enough to come off quarantine in some positive news regarding the pandemic.
The county will ramp up testing in the coming weeks as the Coffee County Health Department will be conducting tests every Tuesday and Thursday until further notice.
In total, Alabama now has 8,120 confirmed cases of COVID-19 with more than 105,000 tests conducted in the state. There have been 310 confirmed COVID-19 deaths in Alabama, according to the Alabama Department of Public Health.
