Fort Rucker sustained tornado damage on Sunday, April 22, during stormy weather that occurred throughout the Wiregrass.
According to a press release from Fort Rucker's Public Affairs Office, the tornado damage was sustained around 1:40 p.m. on Sunday. No injuries were reported.
The press release states that the extent of the damage is being
assessed, and the installation is closed.
"People should remain in their quarters and off the roads to allow emergency personnel to insure the post is safe," the release states. "The post will reopen once Directorate of Public Safety personnel have determined the roads are safe for residence and responding personnel."
