A Daleville High School student has been charged with possession of a concealed weapon and drug paraphernalia. His name may not be released because of his age.
Daleville Public Safety Department Investigator Noah Suiter said that the 17-year-old was stopped by police officers for speeding as he exited the DHS campus.
A search by law enforcement officers of the minor’s vehicle revealed the loaded weapon and drug paraphernalia, Suiter said.
“We’re big on the Second Amendment,” Suiter said referring the second amendment of the United States Constitution guaranteeing the right of gun ownership for citizens. “But it’s got to be done legally.”
Suiter said more charges may be pending.
