An Ozark man is charged with attempted murder after a Saturday stabbing that was the result of a fight over a woman.
Ozark Police Chief Marlos Walker said that Roland V. Schlecht, 41, was arrested after authorities received a call from Dale Medical Center saying that a man had arrived at the hospital with a stab wound to the chest area.
The victim told police that he was stabbed during a physical altercation with Schlecht, which occurred in the 100 block of Williams Street in Ozark.
Walker said that Schlecht confessed to stabbing the victim. “He advised that they were fighting as a result of a woman they were both seeing,” Walker said.
The victim was transported to Southeast Alabama Medical Center in Dothan with life threatening injuries, Walker said. “The victim is now listed in stable condition.”
Walker said the incident is still under investigation by the Ozark Police Department.
