Dale County Schools Superintendent Ben Baker surprised long-time Dale County school bus driver Sue Edgar with a bouquet of flowers and a hug on her final drive before she retired after 40 years of service to the school system. Baker’s first day of kindergarten at Ariton School was Edgar’s first day as a bus driver. “My love for school started that first day when I looked up the school bus steps and saw Ms. Edgar’s smiling face,” Baker said, after surprising Edgar at his former bus stop by the road in Rocky Head on Dale County Road 2. “She served with great dedication for 40 years and will be missed by the students and families she impacted with her love and compassion.”
