Citizens asked to be aware of scam calls

Someone is making phone calls asking for money pretending to be a member of the Daleville Department of Public Safety.

Those phone calls are scam calls and should be reported, stressed Daleville DPS Chief Allen Medley.

Medley said that the department has received several reports of citizens receiving phone calls from a person reporting to be a Daleville law officer soliciting donations.

Medley said that under no circumstances does the Daleville DPS ever solicit money or personal information from citizens via phone. Any such phone call received is fraudulent and a scam, he said.

Citizens are asked to report any such phone call to the DPS at (334) 598-4442.
