With the ceremonial cutting of the ribbon, Enterprise welcomed its newest industry, Advanced Carrier Products.
The company supplies core metal inserts to neighboring HS Automotive Alabama, as well as many other large automotive suppliers.
The Wiregrass Economic Development Corporation first announced Advanced Carrier Products' move from the Atlanta area to Enterprise back in June.
ACP Chief Executive Officer Mark Tober said he's been working to get the industry moved near HSAA, their main customer, since the auto supplier set roots in Enterprise.
Now that they are here, the industry anticipates employing 30 people with plans to grow that number in the future.
Tober said he was proud to know that spools of metal being shipped to manufacturers in China would have the words 'Made in the U.S.A.' on its packaging.
Lt. Gov. Kay Ivey was welcomed as a special guest during the ceremony and said not only does the opening of ACP in Enterprise expand the opportunities for residents within the community it also solidifies Alabama as a key player in the automotive industry.
Ivey said it also affirms the leadership capabilities of those who played a key role in bringing ACP to Enterprise.
"When I signed on to be lieutenant governor full time, little did I know I would be spending most of my time in Enterprise," Ivey said.
On behalf of the citizens, Enterprise Mayor Kenneth Boswell thanked ACP for locating in Enterprise and becoming its newest corporate member.
ACP operates under the German-based Huehoco Group, which Chairman Christoph Koslowski described as a group of family-owned companies located throughout the world.
The Huehoco Group continues to grow with industries like ACP that has facilities in France, Germany, China, Canada, Mexico, Brazil and the United States.
"Although we come from different backgrounds, we share the same values within our communities, and despite our language and cultural differences, we feel right at home in Enterprise," Koslowski said.
Koslowski said having the groundwork and infrastructure in place is one side of success and the other is having a meeting of the minds.
"We will hold up our end of the bargain and offer continued support to our current and future plants in the state of Alabama and the City of Progress," he said.
