Daleville's girls basketball team cruised to a 57-20 victory Jan. 12 at home against Dale County.

Daleville started the game on a 10-2 run, and led 14-5 at the end of the first quarter. 

Dale County cut the DHS lead to 14-9 before Daleville went on a 12-2 run to take a 26-11 lead.

The Lady Hawks led 31-15 at the end of the first half.

Daleville shut down the Lady Warriors in the third quarter and allowed them just one point, a free throw at the end of the frame.

The Lady Hawks were on a 16-0 run, which included 3s by Kenyetta Stephens and Raiven Hallford, when Dale County hit the shot to trim the DHS lead to 47-16 after the third quarter.

Dale County scored first in the fourth, but the Lady Hawks scored the next 10 points.

Dale County scored the game's final basket, but it was too little too late. 

Kiarra Pouncy led Daleville with 14 points, and Ellyce Lascano followed with 11.

Aleecea Harris and Stephens each had 10.

La'Jasha Fils-Aime' had seven points, and Hallford had five.

Hawks win

An 18-0 run to start its Jan. 12 game sparked the Daleville boys basketball team to a ? win against Dale County.

The Warriors scored their first point at the 4:02 mark in the first quarter with a free throw before Daleville went on another run.

A 10-2 streak put the Hawks up 28-3 before Dale County made an old-fashioned 3-point play and DHS led 28-6 at the end of the first quarter.

Up 30-11 early in the second, Daleville went on a 12-2 run and eventually led 44-15 at the end of the first half.

The third quarter started with a Dale County 3 before the Hawks scored the next four points.

The Warriors hit another 3 later to cut the DHS lead to 52-25, and its third long-range shot late.

The Warhawks maintained a 59-32 lead at the end of the third quarter.

Daleville went on a 4-2 run to start the fourth before another DCHS 3.

The Warhawks ended the game with another 4-2 run and secured the win.

Shemar Dixon led Daleville with 12 points, and Kainan Pouncy followed with 11. Austin Valdez had nine, and Jerry White scored eight.

Riley Remple and Acazio Coleman had six points apiece. Teco Hodge had five.

T.J. Tanner added three. Bryce Souders and Xavier Kelly finished with two each.
