A longtime former Dale County law officer has been arrested in Enterprise on drug related charges.
Gerald Ganous, 50, of Enterprise, was arrested by Coffee County Sheriff’s officers Aug. 8 and taken to Coffee County Jail where he was released on bonds totaling $15,000.
Ganous was a former lieutenant with the Daleville Police Department and a member of the now defunct Wiregrass Violent Crimes Drug Task Force.
Ganous served with the Dale County Sheriff’s Department from 2007 until his medical retirement. Ganous listed “disabled” under the “employer” section on the Coffee County Jail arrest report.
Ganous is charged with felony possession of an illegal substance with intent to distribute and two misdemeanor drug-related charges.
Coffee County District Judge Chris Kaminski set bond at $10,000 on the felony drug charge and $2,500 each on the second-degree possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia charges.
