Ronald James “Ronny” Walsh, 49, of Dothan went to be with his Lord and Savior on Friday, June 7, 2013 at the Farley Nuclear Plant after suffering from injuries received during high winds.
Funeral services will be t 2 p.m. Wednesday, June 12, at Hillcrest Baptist Church in Enterprise with Dr. Brent Parker and Dr. Mack Amis officiating. Burial will follow in Meadowlawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Sorrells Funeral Home and Crematory in Enterprise on Tuesday from 6 until 8 p.m. The body will be placed in the church on Wednesday one hour before service time.

Ronny was born July 4, 1963 in Dothan to Charles Thomas and Ruby Hazel Ethridge Walsh. He was a member of the Selma Baptist Church. He was presently working with security at the Farley Nuclear Plant and had worked previously as a police officer with the City of Enterprise as well as the City of Dothan. He felt his calling to be a servant as well as protecting. He had also worked with the Auburn Rescue Squad for several years. He was a loving son, husband and father.
Survivors include his wife, Melanie Brown Walsh, Dothan; a daughter, Ashton Walsh; a son, Matthew Walsh both of Dothan; parents Charles and Hazel Walsh, Enterprise; two brothers, Michael Walsh (Karen), Greenwood, Ind., and Jeffrey Walsh (Renee), Eufaula; mother-in-law Mary Barefoot and the late Thomas W. Barefoot, New Brockton; father-in-law Bill Brown (Cathy), Dothan; and several nieces and nephews.
