The retiree committee of the Enterprise Chamber of Commerce announced that the annual “Getting to Know Enterprise” Retiree Fair will be combined with the annual Retiree Appreciation Picnic to form one event.

The “Getting to Know Enterprise” Retiree Fair and Picnic is Oct. 9, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Johnny Henderson Family Park at the Enterprise Recreation Complex on Highway 167 north, also known as Neal Metcalf Road.

The fair, previously held in August, is designed to provide information about Enterprise to newcomers, retirees, and those nearing retirement. The picnic, held each October, is part of Retiree Appreciation Month and is held to show appreciation to area retirees.

Combining the event will provide more opportunities for sponsors, while reducing cost and effort. The combination of events will provide more services and a better experience for attendees.

The event will feature many local companies who support retirees, plus food, entertainment, and door prizes. There is no charge for retirees, but to enjoy the free barbecue, retirees must pick up a free ticket from the Enterprise Chamber of Commerce prior to the event. There is a limited supply and will be distributed on a first-come, first serve basis.

Food will be sponsored by Sam Boswell Honda and entertainment will be provided by O’neal Boswell and The Full Throttle Band and by The Cowpens Creek Band. Door prizes will be sponsored by numerous sponsors and vendors at the event.

To be a sponsor of the Retiree Fair and Picnic, or for more information, visit www.enterprisealabama.com. or call 334-347-0581.
