An Ino man has been arrested after a complaint of stolen funds from the Coffee County Fireman's Association.
According to Coffee County Deputy Chief Ronnie Whitworth, the Coffee County Sheriff's Office served a search and an arrest warrant at 6:05 a.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 2, for a residence on Country Road 450 in the Ino community.
Brock Allen Barlette, 27, was arrested and charged with first-degree theft of property of funds exceeding $2,500.
At this time, it is unclear the total amount of funds stolen.
Whitworth said that the CCSO received a complaint from the CCFA about two months ago that funds were missing. The complaint led the Sheriff's Office to investigate the Ino Volunteer Fire Department where Barlette was a volunteer firefighter.
Pieces of electronic equipment, suspected to be purchased with the stolen funds, have been seized by the Sheriff's Office.
Barlette is currently being held in the Coffee County Jail. No bond amount has been set.
The Sheriff's Office is still investigating the incident.
