The Enterprise Police Department is looking for the suspect in a burglary and two shootings.

According to Public Information Officer Lt. Billy Haglund, the EPD responded to a burglary on Wednesday, April 4, in the 200 Block on Apache Drive.

Haglund said the suspect stole jewelry, home electronics and a handgun.

EPD detectives were able to identify the suspect in this burglary as Luis Ortiz, according to Haglund. He said detectives obtained an arrest warrant on Luis Ortiz for third-degree burglary.

The EPD is also investigating two shootings that occurred on Thursday, April 5, at 4:30 and 7 p.m. in the 200 Block of Apache Drive.

According to Haglund, the suspect fired shots into two different apartments during these times. There were no injuries reported during the shootings.

EPD detectives believe the burglary and the shootings are connected, according to Haglund. The EPD has named Luis Ortiz a person of interest in the shootings and is currently working to arrest Ortiz on the burglary charge.

The EPD is seeking the public's assistance regarding the whereabouts of Luis Ortiz. Ortiz may be armed with a stolen handgun from the burglary on April 4.

Anyone with information on Ortiz is asked to contact the EPD at (334) 347-2222 or leave a tip at www.enterprisepd.com.
