On Friday, July 21, Antonio Tyrell Pouncey, 37, turned himself into the Coffee County Sheriff’s Office, according to a statement released by Captain Michael Hines.
Pouncey was arrested and charged with violation of probation and third-degree escape.
Pouncey escaped from police custody on July 19 after a failed drug test administered at the Coffee County Courthouse in Enterprise. Pouncey had participated in Drug Court and failed at least three other drug tests before the last test on July 19.
As a result of the most recent failed drug test, Pouncey was sentenced to five days in prison. In the process of being detained, Pouncey “bolted from custody” as authorities attempted to shackle him. The police and CCSO searched three days prior to Pouncey’s surrender.
Pouncey is currently being held in the Coffee County Jail without bail until a sentencing judge hears his case.
