A 33-year-old Daleville man is being held under a $60,000 bond on four sexually related felonies.
Police investigator Noah Suiter said Vidal Emmanuel Wilson, aka Vidal Emmanuel Rudolph, was arrested Monday morning, June 13, and charged with one count of sexual abuse of a child under 12 years old and three counts of first-degree sodomy.
The arrest stems from an investigation that has been ongoing since April, said Suiter who explained that investigators first interviewed the child and her mother at an area hospital, but waited until subsequent interviews were completed by the Child Advocacy Center in Dothan before making the arrest this week.
Wilson/Rudolph is a resident of the VFW Trailer Park in Daleville, said Suiter, adding that the man, known to the child as her step-father, lived across the street from the child and her mother. Currently, the investigator said, the child is residing with her biological father and “there is no chance of the child being re-victimized” should the alleged perpetrator be released on bond.
Police say the mother has been very cooperative from the beginning of the investigation. He said the Department of Human Resources is involved in the case and that the investigation is continuing.
The suspect did not answer questions from police and requested an attorney from the beginning, said Suiter.
Wilson/Rudolph is being held in the Daleville City Jail currently, but will be transferred to the Dale County Jail in Ozark once he has been fully processed.
All four charges against the man are Class A felonies, said Suiter. In Alabama, a conviction on a Class A felony can lead to a prison sentence of 10 years and no more than 99 years on each count.
