Forty-eight employers will fill the gymnasium of Carroll High School July 21 for the 13th Annual Fort Rucker Area Job Fair.

Sponsored by the Fort Rucker Transition Assistance Program, Army Community Service, the city of Ozark and the Ozark Chamber of Commerce, the massive job fair is open the public, said Bryan Tharpe, Soldier for Life Transition Services manager.

From sales jobs to pilots and everything in between can be found at the event, Tharpe said, adding that many of the employers will be interviewing and hiring on site.

Applicants who can’t make it to the job fair can contact the individual employers to apply for available openings.

Tharpe said the job fair started as a way to help soldiers, but “we know that people in the community need jobs to, so we opened it for everybody. Originally, it was designed to help the veterans and soldiers in the area.”

Some 800 prospects are expected to attend the job fair, Tharpe said and “it all depends on how people are feeling, if they need jobs or if they want to explore new jobs…If they are looking for a job or they know somebody who is looking for a job, let them know about it and then come on out there. First, do a little research on the companies so you can speak (knowledgably). Everybody should come out and be dressed for a job interview, because you never know. You need to look like you want a job.”
